Wow,
I can't believe we are half way thru January. Times flies when you are having fun. I had a bday last week! Hubby took me out for steak. For some reason, and he has done this for years, I get no gift! ARGGGH! But, I am going to go and get me a couple of DVD's, and order some other gifties online~embroidery stitch outs, and some clipart for quilt labels. Then wrap them, and tell him to give them too me. I dont think it will make a difference to him, but it will make me feel better.
It has been so icy here for the last couple of days. Good weather to stay inside. I have been going thru my BAGSSSSSSSSS of scraps, and am cutting them up into manageable pieces. I have made so much headway! I am down to a bag of strips for strip piecing, a bag of smaller pieces, and another bag of strips to cut for lasagne quilts, and other strip quilts. I am cutting them into squares of various sizes and then strips for certain quilts that I have in mind. I am also cutting up some fabrics for a VERY scrappy Turning Twenty quilt. I feel so great to have as much done as I do. I am anxious to start on the quilts now. I have the ideas buzzing around in my head already!!!!
I went thru my charity fabrics, and I passing them on to other ladies that do things for Project linus. It is really freeing. And, now they will get finished and be able to warm kids like they are suppose too. I had some blocks from various swaps that I have had swappers send in for charity, and those are going too! I have 2 charity quilts here to finish and that is on my agenda as soon as the scraps are cut up. I think another couple of weeks and the scraps should be "history".
I also threw away alot of VCR tapes that we had taped eons ago. Was talking with dh and asked him if he thought we could as we are replacing most of them. But, we kept a large tote of tapes that we had bought, and then there are some in a dresser also. I will be purging these to my dd as we replace them with DVD's. I tell you, I am cleaning house--literally!
I have also been reading "Endless Chain" by Emily Richards. Nice story. I have so many books to read also, and then pass them on. I am not a very fast reader, as i do so only when in bed at night. I am lucky to get a chapter done each night. I am about 2/3 done with this book.
Well, better get, work again tomorrow. Love my job, but gosh, wish I could just have a 4 day work week..................YEah, I could find plenty to keep myself busy that extra day--LOL.
No pics to post, but hope to get a few things done this week, so maybe next time.
Hugs!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Ok, I have tried this two other times, and wham, bam, i lose it. So here it goes. LOL. Had a great Christmas! All the family was here: Ashley, Jerad, Bill, and Myself. We celebrated our family Christmas on Christmas Eve, and with the larger family (my side, as Bill's sisters live so far away, and his mom passed last December) today. Lots of food, fellowship, and fun! The presents were awesome also, but we are humbled by the REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I couldn't get much into the Christmas Season this year. I have had trouble with my knee since vacation in November. A couple of trips to the doc to find out that I do have a small tear, but that surgicially repairing it will not help me. My MRI shows that I need a total knee replacement soon as the cartilage on one side of my knee is near gone! YIKES!!! But first the docs want me to lose weight, but by thier way--LAP BAND surgery. No way Jose! Thanks very much, but I can do it on my own. Just have to get way more serious now, as if I dont get it off I will be having the surgery sooner than I would like. The docs would like for me to wait a few years before I get the replacement, because, thier life span is about 20 years, so by the time I am 65 years old, I could be looking at another. I think i will opt for the weight loss.
Work is going good! We may be looking at moving in the next year or so. I hate to leave here, but my dh health would be so much better if we were somewhere warmer and drier! We are shooting for about a year and a half to totally be out there. DH and son may move a few months prior to me, but we will see.
My embroidery machine has been smoking the last week or so. I stitched on some shirts for the great neices and nephews! It was so fun! Now, I have two quilts waiting on me to be bound! I cant wait to get them done, as one is a round robin made by some dear friends, and the other is a combo of a couple of swaps from SMSwaps forum. Afraid no pics yet.
I think we will be working on some jobs around the house--need to if we are going to sell! So that will be our priority now. Gotta get the bucks, because the housing sure isnt cheap in CA. LOL.
Here is hoping you and yours had a Wonderful Holy-day Season! Merry Christmas!

Saturday Fun!

Went shopping today--yes, of course quilt shoppe shopping. I managed to get a few goodies in my bag today. I will be making some stocking for some foster children so picked up some novelty fabric for that. Then cabbaged on to some RED minkee for a sweatshirt I am making for a dear friend that gave me a thimble that she got while on vacation this summer. I then came back to my friends house and we ate the most wonderful Indian dish. It was flavored with curry--one of my fav spices. Then, we settled in to sew for awhile. I did more embroidery than anything. Did the little snowman and stars on a teatowel. I think it turned out so purty! Then I stitched out some more snowmen. First I stitch them out on recycled jean fabric, and then on the item/fabric I want the final stitchout to be on. I plan on making a rag quilt with all the jean snowmen that I stitch out. I will post when I do. I also put the binding on a quilt for someone special for Christmas. I hope to have it done by this week. Whew! Will I ever get it all done? LOL
Well, better get to bed, the midnight oil is burning!!!!!!!!!

A Beginning.........................
Well, last nite I had made my first blog entry, and I was so tired that I accidently hit the delete button. Arggggggggggggggh! Oh well, I will try again. I am at some friends for the weekend. Hope to do some quilt shop hopping, and sew some. That is what I call a fun weekend! Yeehaw!
I brought Em along, my new "to Me" Embroidery machine. I am also hoping to get a gift embroidered this weekend! I have so much that needs to get done, that I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. But, this is my FAVORITE time of the year. Well, I am a bit tired so I will close! Have a great Saturday!
